01.Chandrika Lake in Embilipitiya...

In the Sabaragamuwa province's Rathnapura district sits the lovely village of Embilipitiya. Everyone in Embilipitiya is familiar with Chandrika Lake. People travel from far and wide to visit Chandrika Lake, which is incredibly picturesque in the village during the rainy season. to admire the lake's splendor after it has rained. I went to the lake with my friends as well. This location combines beauty and relaxation in spades. A few adults and small kids are having fun flying kites along the lake embankment. People who are traveling from the village to a distant location in the evening are welcome to visit the lakeshore and take in its beauty.

02.Katharagama Temple ...

Katharagama Temple in Sri Lanka is a sacred site for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Vedda people, dedicated to the deity Kataragama Deviyo. It attracts thousands of pilgrims during the annual Esala festival, known for its spiritual significance and cultural diversity.

      Beautiful girls selling flowers from exquisite flower shops on both sides of the Kiriwehera road are among Kataragama's most picturesque scenes. And they're eager to take on the task. We can tend to the Vasana elephants after traveling to Kataragama. Additionally, we can engage in a variety of worship practices, such as praying to the Kataragama God after visiting the Kataragama shrine. And as has been customary since the beginning of time, we will worship the Kataragama pans, which have been cleansed from manik. The Tamil people walk from north to south when Kataragama starts. Since it is only carried out once a year, they will demonstrate their love for God. There will be religious activities conducted by people of all religions .

03.The Temple of the Tooth....

The Temple of the Tooth, or "Sri Dalada Maligawa," is a sacred Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It houses the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, making it one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists worldwide. The temple, known for its beautiful architecture and cultural significance, is a symbol of Sri Lanka’s rich heritage and religious history.

   Kandy Vevarauma is another popular destination for devotees who come to Dalada Palace; it's an extremely lovely place with amazing beauty.

04.Hanthana Mountain Range....

The stunning and well-known Hanthana Mountain Range is situated close to Kandy in Sri Lanka. It is well-known for its breathtaking scenery, abundant vegetation, and biodiversity, which makes it a popular destination for adventure seekers, hikers, and nature lovers.

       

      The range of Hanthana, which is southwest of Kandy, is a great place to conduct research on biodiversity and go bird watching because it has a diverse range of flora and fauna. With breathtaking views of the Knuckles Mountain Range and Kandy City, it is a well-liked destination for trekking and hiking. The campus of the University of Peradeniya is located in the foothills.

            Climbing the Hantane mountain range is among the most breathtaking experiences that university students can have. Together, with eagerness and cooperation, everyone decides to embark on this journey. Every student who attended the university took part in the lovely Hantane excursion. We will gain new experiences and a ton of priceless, lovely memories from this event. We must undertake the journey of climbing the Hantana mountain range during our time at university.

05.Ambuluwawa Tower...

Ambuluwawa Tower, located in the suburbs of Gampola Town in Sri Lanka, is a fascinating landmark that combines religious diversity, architectural uniqueness, and breathtaking views.

Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Complex:

The Ambuluwawa Tower is part of the Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Complex, spanning over 250 acres of land. This complex is home to diverse flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. Within the complex, you’ll find not only the tower but also a Buddhist Stupa, a Christian Church, a Hindu Kovil, and a Muslim Mosque. It’s a place where people of different beliefs come together to practice their religions, symbolizing harmony and unity1.

Design and Location:

The tower stands atop Ambuluwawa Mountain, rising approximately 48 meters (157 feet) high. Its design draws inspiration from traditional Buddhist stupas, characterized by a conical shape and multiple tiers3.The mountain itself has historical significance—it was discovered by King Buvanekabahu IV in the 14th century and is famous for its rich biodiversity, housing around 200 different plant species1.

Climbing the Tower:

The climb to the top of Ambuluwawa Tower is relatively easy and takes about 10 to 15 minutes without photo stops. The journey begins inside the tower and gradually leads outside.As you ascend, the spiraling staircase becomes narrower, creating a unique experience. If you’re afraid of heights, brace yourself—the reward awaits at the summit: a magnificent 360° view of the surroundings, including lush greenery, tea plantations, and distant mountain ranges1.

Symbol of Unity:

The Ambuluwawa Tower represents more than just architecture; it’s a testament to cultural and religious harmony. Visitors from around the world appreciate its significance as a place where diverse faiths converge.

06.Bomburu Ella

Bomburu Ella, also known as Bomburu Ella Falls, is another beautiful waterfall located in Sri Lanka, specifically in the village of Bomburu Ella near Nuwara Eliya. Like Diyaluma Falls, it's nestled amidst the lush greenery of the central highlands, making it a captivating natural attraction.

Bomburu Ella is a series of cascading waterfalls rather than a single drop, and it's fed by the waters of the Bomburuella River. The falls are surrounded by dense forests and offer a serene and tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the falls, take photographs, and even have a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the natural pools formed at the base of the falls.

To reach Bomburu Ella, visitors often embark on a trek through the picturesque surroundings, enjoying the sights and sounds of the forest along the way. It's a popular destination for both local and international tourists seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Sri Lanka's hill country.

07.Sembuwatta Lake

Sembuwatta Lake is one of the must-visit travel destinations in the Matale District of Sri Lanka. It is situated near Elkaduwa, a small town in the Ukuwela divisional secteriant area. The distance from Kandy to Sembuwatta is 31 km, and from Matale it is 22 km. The place has become widely popular among local and international travelers in the last decade.

There are two major routes to reach Sembuwatta. first route from Kandy via Wattegama. The next route is from Matale via Ukuwela. You can easily find the location with Google Maps. Since its opening in 2005, the area has been managed by Elkaduwa Plantation Company. You should buy a ticket to enter the location.

Sembuwatta Lake and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful and nice to see. The cold breeze will bring amazing feelings to anyone. There is a forest near the lake, and it’s called “Campbell Lane Forest.” The majority of the forest is pine trees. You can also see tea estates in the area. The elevation of the area is 1072m. So, you will feel the cold weather. The average annual temperature is around 20’C and the average annual rainfall in the area is around 2000 mm.

Sembuwatta Lake was built in 1949. It was a polo ground in the British Era of Sri Lanka. Later, it became a lake to generate essential electricity for the tea factory. The lake has been made up with natural water streams. It is 9–12 m deep and not allowed for bathing. Anyhow, it is open for many water activities. There is another small pool near the main lake for bathing activities. So, you can bathe there.

Summer huts are available for those who would like to spend the night in Sembuwatta. are also available for those who don’t like to stay in them. But you need to get permission to do that. So, we request that you visit this place if you love to travel in central Sri Lanka.
